IT Strategy & Operating Model Consultant (m/f/d)

Job Overview:

As an IT Strategy & Operating Model Consultant, you will work closely with IT leaders and transformation teams to design and optimize modern IT organizations. You will bring clarity and structure to complex environments, develop scalable governance and process models, and help drive execution of IT transformation programs.

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Operating Model Design

  • Develop target operating models for IT organizations (governance, roles, sourcing, KPIs)

  • Define and implement ITSM frameworks and processes (e.g., Incident, Change, Request, CMDB, Service Portfolio)

  • Support the establishment of modern IT management models (e.g., TBM, service orientation, cloud operating models)

  • Contribute to adjacent topics such as software asset management and IT governance

Analysis & Transformation

  • Assess current IT structures and identify improvement opportunities

  • Design transformation roadmaps, business cases, and governance models

  • Support tool evaluations and implementations within ITSM or operating model contexts

Client Engagement & Delivery

  • Collaborate directly with IT leaders, service management functions, and transformation offices

  • Facilitate workshops and decision-making sessions

  • Manage project streams and coordinate cross-functional teams

Business Development & Thought Leadership

  • Contribute to Rhino’s consulting frameworks and offerings (e.g., ITSM strategy, AI readiness)

  • Support proposal development and client engagement activities

Qualifications

Experience

  • At least 2 years of experience in management consulting with a focus on IT Operating Model, ITSM, or IT transformation

  • Proven project experience in designing or optimizing IT organizations, processes, or governance structures

  • Understanding of modern IT architectures, cloud models, and digital operating environments

Skills

  • Strong analytical and conceptual abilities

  • Clear and structured communication with IT management stakeholders

  • Excellent facilitation and presentation skills in English and German (both at least C1)

Education

  • University degree in Business Administration & Economics, Business Informatics , or a related field

  • Master’s degree or MBA is a plus
